Our Super Sensitive Skin Balm is all-natural, handmade and free from any artificial chemicals, perfumes, dyes, phthalates, petrochemicals or parabens.
We make the balm by hand on the farm, by simmering natural herbs plantain, comfrey, chamomile, yarrow, chickweed and nettle in sunflower oil until the oil is infused with the beneficial properties of the herbs. The oil is then gently mixed with beeswax to turn it into a moisturising balm. Each of the herbs have their own special properties which are beneficial for the skin.

This balm is designed to nurture delicate, painful, itchy skin. It may be used in the early stages of severe dysbiosis, when our kefir lotions may be too strong. It can also be used in combination with our kefir lotions, to provide extra moisture.
The stars of the show
The herbs are the stars of the show, and each plays its own beneficial role!
- Plantain contains allantoin, which is a natural antibacterial.
- Comfrey, also called “Bone Knit” helps decrease dryness and flaking of skin.
- Chamomile has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.
- Yarrow is an astringent that gently purifies the skin.
- Chickweed helps to calm and comfort.
- Nettle helps reduce irritation
The herbs are simmered gently in sunflower oil, which has its own helpful properties. Sunflower oil is calming and emollient for the skin, helping to retain moisture and enrich the skin barrier with vitamins E, A, C, D and healthy carotenoids.
Once the sunflower oil has absorbed the goodness of the herbs, we strain the herbs out and add natural beeswax to gently thicken the oil into balm. Beeswax is natural, non-toxic and provides it’s own benefits to the skin. It forms a protective barrier that helps protect skin from environmental assaults, while also holding in moisture and reducing dryness. Beeswax won’t clog pores, and is also easily tolerated by even those with reactive skin.
Like all our products, our Super Sensitive Skin Balm is made by hand, in small batches, right here on the farm. No machines, no automation – just willing human hands! That’s how the love gets in – ; )
