Why natural kefir is more powerful than man-made probiotics – diversity is king!

Every single day, your gut is being assaulted by the the four “Arch-Enemies” of good gut health: sugar, stress, chemicals and antibiotics.

Even if you’re not taking antibiotics by mouth, the sad truth these days is that there are antibiotics in the food chain1 and in the groundwater.2 We are all being bombarded by constant low doses of antibiotics that kill off our fragile gut bugs, just as pouring bleach into the river kills the fish. And we’re all affected on a daily basis by sugar, stress and chemicals. It’s just a part of modern life.

The problem is that in order to keep you healthy, your gut microbiome requires diversity. Your diversity rating is the main way that the Microbiome Test scores the overall health of your microbiome. Lower diversity is considered a marker of dysbiosis (microbial imbalance) in the gut and has been found in autoimmune diseases and obesity and cardiometabolic conditions, as well as in elderly people.3

The health of any ecosystem is judged by how many different organisms are thriving there. This is true inside your gut, just as it is in nature. A huge variety of distinct organisms makes a natural system resilient, able to fight off pathogens, disease and invasion in a number of different ways.

A depleted ecosystem is vulnerable, and open to attack.

Over time, this results in an impoverished microbiome that lacks the resilient diversity required to protect you from disease.

The answer? Fight back. To put multiple strains of bacteria back into your gut, you need a probiotic that has as many strains as possible. Logically enough, the more diverse your probiotic, the more it will aid your diversity.

Man-made probiotics often contain only a few strains of live culture. But Chuckling Goat’s wild kefir, which is made with real living kefir grains, have been recently tested by Atlas and determined to contain 27 different strains of beneficial bacteria. To our knowledge, this makes our kefir the most diverse live culture product available on the market today.  The strains are as follows:

  • Acetobacter fabarum
  • Acetobacter lovaniensis
  • Acetobacter spp.
  • Dipodascus geotrichum
  • Enterococcus durans
  • Issatchenkia orientalis
  • Khazachstania exigua
  • Khazachstania unispora
  • Kluyveromyces lactis
  • Kluyveromyces marxianus
  • Lactobacillus diolivorans
  • Lactobacillus helveticus
  • Lactobacillus kefiranofaciens
  • Lactobacillus kefiri
  • Lactobacillus otakiensis
  • Lactobacillus parabuchneri
  • Lactobacillus paracasei
  • Lactobacillus parakefiri
  • Lactobacillus plantarum
  • Lactobacillus sunkii
  • Lactobacillus ultunensis
  • Lactococcus lactis
  • Leuconostoc garlicum
  • Leuconostoc lactis
  • Pichia fermentans
  • Saccharomyces exiguus
  • Saccobolus spp.

Because these bacteria are living and thriving in their own environment, they continue to grow over time. The number of active bacteria in Chuckling Goat kefir are constantly increasing. This is in contrast to powdered or man-made probiotics, which are dying off over time, becoming increasingly weak over their shelf life.

Combine this explosive natural power with our Complete Prebiotic. A prebiotic is a food for a probiotic. Once again, our prebiotic is the most diverse on the market, containing 18 natural sources of all the fibres that all those bacteria require to keep them healthy and thriving:

  • Arabinan
  • Arabinogalactan
  • Arabinoxylan
  • Beta-Glucan
  • Dextrin
  • FOS
  • Galactan
  • GOS
  • Guar Gum
  • IMO
  • Inulin
  • Galactosyl-D-fructose
  • MOS
  • Pectin
  • Polydextrose
  • XOS
  • Xylan
  • Xyloglucan

Your gut system is complex – and that’s the way it should be. You need the maximum  possible number of live bacterial strains, and prebiotic fibres to feed them.

But your gut care solution can be simple. Fight back against the constant assault of modern life on your gut, with Chuckling Goat Kefir + Complete Prebiotic
